Ultimate Faceoff 2 - League Rules
*Updated Changes for Year 2 - April 2, 2015
The league will consist of 6 managers. Each manager should be knowledgeable and serious about hockey, football and this particular fantasy pool. Hopefully we will not have to worry about this, but if it is determined that a manager has given up and failed to stay active with his teams, he/she will be removed from the league and will be replaced.
1. FEES:
Entry fee will be $40 per year. This must be paid on or before the draft day with no exceptions. Failure to comply will result in your team being auctioned off.
- Payments will be made through PayPal or money transfer
2. PAYOUTS:
Payouts (based on 6 teams and $40 entry fees) will be as follows:
* All money is paid out
a. Overall points winner - League Champ - $100
b. Runner-up in points - 2nd place - $60
c. Third place in points - 3rd place - $40
d. 1st place (playoffs) in Hockey Pool will receive $20
e. 1st place (playoffs) in Football Pool will receive $20
* Any ties in total points splits money, but the team labelled as team champ goes back to H2H records between the two teams in both sports.
3. OVERALL POINTS SCORING:

5. RULE CHANGES:
Every year owners will be able to submit proposals for rule adjustments. Votes will determine if any changes be made.
a. To enforce a rule change, half the owners + 1 owners must vote in approval. The owners that are counted for this can include the owner who requested the change initially.
6. ROSTERS:
Hockey - Each manager will have a pro team and a farm team.
a. Each pro team will consist of a 33 man roster which includes goaltenders.
b. A maximum of five goaltenders is allowed per PRO team and a minimum of two goaltenders is also required. No other position has limits. Goalies placed in one of your IR spots does not count towards your 5 goalie max.
c. Each farm team will consist of 4 players of any position.
Football - Each manager will have a pro team plus two Developmental (Devy) roster spots.
a. Each pro team will consist of a 30 man roster.
b. A maximum of five quarterbacks and two DEF teams per team (Not including players in your devy spots, or on the IR on your roster). There are no other position limitations.

8. FARM TEAMS and Devy Players:
Hockey - Farm Teams
Each farm team may consist of any number of players and any number of positions, as long as it is at or under the maximum of 4 players.
* All players must be drafted into the NHL. You cannot draft 16 or 17 year olds who have not been drafted.
a. Each player may be called up to your pro team at any time during the regular season or the offseason. However, once a player is called up from to your pro team he cannot be returned to your farm team. If you trade for a player that is farm eligible, but is on another teams pro team, the team acquiring the player can add them to their farm team, BUT this must be done right away following the trade. ALSO, if this player returns to the original team, he is not farm team eligible.
b. 100 NHL regular season games is the max for a farm skater, and 50 games started in the regular season for goalies. At 100/50 games played/games started he must be added to your pro team or dropped to waivers.
* The only way to add farm players to your farm team is through drafting and trading.
Football - Devy players
Each team has two spots for college players (devy players). These 2 spots do not count towards you teams 30 roster spots.
a. Devy players must have played at least one year out of high school - no high school grads can be drafted or owned in this league.
b. Once a player is drafted into the NFL, he must be added you to pro team or be dropped.
* The only way to add devy players is through the devy draft.
9. KEEPERS:
At the end of the season, teams can keep all of their players (32 hockey and 30 football + farm and devy teams). All players on the IR must be added to your pro team our be dropped one week after the end of the season. You can't keeper 32/30 plus 3 (IR) all off season.
10. DRAFT:
Year 2 and beyond:
a. Each years draft after the initial draft will also be a slow draft, with each sport having its own draft. The drafts will immeadiately follow the NFL and NHL draft.
b. The NHL draft will consist of 4 rounds, and teams can draft zero player to the number of picks they own. Drafted players can be rookies from the draft or pro players if teams would like. Pro and farm rosters will be submitted/reduced to roster limits by each team one week after our draft is completed.
The NFL draft will consist of a 5 round rookie draft (or pro players if you would like) and a 2 round college draft which will occur one month prior to the NFL draft. Similar to the NHL draft, rosters must be cut down to the limit one week after our draft is complete.
c. Draft positions will be based on the rankings BEFORE the playoffs for the bottom 2 teams, and AFTER playoffs for the top 4 teams. An example of how the draft picks would work is shown below.

11. PLAYOFFS:
The scoring system used will be Yahoo’s head to head system. Scoring categories are defined above. If you are unfamiliar with Yahoo’s head to head scoring system, either email me or check the Yahoo page.
a. The top 4 teams will make the playoffs, which will consist of the last two weeks of the regular season of the NHL and weeks 15 and 16 in the NFL pool.
12. TRADING:
a. Managers can trade draft picks for the next year into the future only, but if you do, next years payment is due in full ($50).
b. There will be a trade deadline set as close as yahoo will allow us to set before the start of our playoffs.
c. Trading privileges will be opened back up after the NHL/NFL playoffs are completed, in the league forum.
d. League trade voting is one day only, not two.
e. The commissioner has the right to overturn any trade which has been made and is clearly collusion, eg Malkin for Ben Eager, to keep the integrity of the league.
f. All trades not approved through Yahoo MUST be posted on the league site and be confirmed by both to for it to be official.
g. Trades can involve players from different sports.
13. WAIVERS:
a. There is no limit to the number of moves teams can make in each sport.
b. Waivers is one day only, not two.
c. There will be no waiver periods in the off-season after the draft(s). There will be one waiver period a week prior to the start of each sports season.
14. OWNER MISTAKES:
a. If an owner makes a mistake by adding or dropping the wrong player, or accepting a trade by accident, the owner has five minutes to notify the commish via email or to post on yahoo. If the owner did not notice right away, the commish will use his judgement and only top end players will be reversed if the drop/trade was an obvious mistake.
b. If a player adds a farm player that is not theirs and drops a player, the commish will drop the farm player from that team, BUT NOT add the dropped player back to the team. The exception to this is if the farm teams list on the yahoo homepage is not up to date and that farm player was not listed.
15. OFFSEASON:
a. Teams can exceed roster limits in the off season by trading and drafting. Teams must cut back down to the limit one week after the draft.
